Manitoulin Resort features six fully equipped deluxe housekeeping cottages and one bunkie nestled among mature trees with a view of Lake Manitou. Each cottage boasts a fireplace, wood stove insert or wood burning stove as well as electric heat. All cottages have a fully equipped kitchen with appliances including a microwave, coffee maker and propane barbeque. There is a three or four piece bathroom and we supply the bedding. For your convenience, each cottage has potable water, a fire pit, lawn chairs and picnic table. One complimentary load of firewood including paper and kindling delivered every day during your stay in May, June, September & October. During July and August, this delivery occurs every other day in the afternoon. You will find the deck overlooking Lake Manitou to be the perfect spot to relax with a good book, enjoy a camp fire, watch a spectacular sunset or listen to the haunting cry of the loons.
Our season typically begins the May long weekend, (Mother Nature permitting), and Cottages/Bunkie remain open until the end of September or the first week of October. Contact us to confirm dates. During "prime season" (July & August), cottages are rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday and the bunkie is available for a minimum 3-night stay. We will only permit a minimum 2-night stay in a cottage during the "prime season" IF the cottage week is still available two days prior to the Saturday check-in date. In the "off season" cottages/bunkie are available anytime for a minimum two-night stay.
We can accept and confirm new cottage reservations February 1st and onwards every year. Our policy is that those who stayed with us in a cottage for a full week in the previous year has "first dibs" for that same time frame for the upcoming season and must confirm their stay with their cottage deposit by January 1st. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to be placed on our cottage request list prior to February 1st. It's not difficult to reserve a cottage as life changes and not all return year after year. We will contact those on our waiting list prior to accepting new reservations which will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
In order to confirm a cottage/bunkie reservation, you must be a minimum of 25 years of age and we require a minimum $250.00 deposit for a one-week stay or $150.00 for less than a one-week stay. (Ex. 1 1/2 weeks = $400.00). Your non-refundable deposit will be deducted from your final invoice upon arrival. Cancellations and "no shows" made 3 weeks or less prior to your arrival date will result in a charge applied to your credit card for half of the reserved cottage rental fee plus applicable taxes, minus your initial deposit. Deposits are non-refundable as of February 1st of the current year. No refunds are given due to inclement weather or for issues beyond our control. Please be advised you are responsible for payment for all nights you have reserved.
If you do not arrive for your cottage or bunkie on your date scheduled for arrival and you have not called us at 705-859-3550 to update us, we will assume that you have chosen to cancel your reservation without notice and will proceed with our cancellation policy.
For deposits, we accept email payment transfers, personal cheques, (if received at least 4 weeks prior to stay), bank draft, money order, cash, Visa or MasterCard. We cannot accept Debit Visa's or prepaid gift cards. Upon arrival, you will be asked to confirm your Visa or MasterCard as we keep it on file in the event of damages or additional service fees. If you do not have a credit card, we cannot reserve a cottage for you.
Check-in is 3:00 pm and onwards. Check-out is 10:00am NO EXCEPTIONS. Please call us if you will be arriving after 5pm in order to make arrangements for late arrival.
We are a family/staff operated resort who put our hearts and souls in to this beautiful retreat. We all strongly believe in personal customer service. It is always best to CALL us to confirm a camping site or cottage so that we can do our absolute best to accommodate your requests. Unfortunately, a computer is NOT very good at conveying your thoughts and feelings however a quick call can make the process easy. Feel free to email us by clicking on the "Reservations" tab however since we are family run, please be patient for a response.
Cottages have holding tanks and quantity is based on usual usage as per assigned capacity. They are able to accommodate a one-week stay. If an extra tank pump out is required before the end of a one-week stay, an additional fee of $75.00 must be paid prior to service. Feel free to use additional resort washrooms/showers located within the premises.
SMOKING / VAPING AND LARGE / SHEDDING ANIMALS are prohibited in the cottages & bunkie. An additional fee of $250.00 plus tax will be charged to your credit card for cleaning costs if the above has occurred and/or you will be immediately asked to leave without refund. Outside ashtrays are supplied for your convenience.
All illegal drugs and any form of marijuana is NOT permitted on main Resort private property. If this does occur, you will be asked to leave immediately without refund. Please enjoy a walk in the field or down the road.
Bayview
This is a large, two bedroom cottage with each bedroom having one double and one single bed. There is a four piece bathroom with a skylight, large stone fireplace with insert in the open concept kitchen/living room, and a patio door leading to a large deck overlooking the harbour.
It is preferred that all pets stay at home. However, we will permit 1 hypo-allergenic, non-shedding DOG 20lbs or less.

Harbourview
This cottage features two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. There is a skylight in the four piece bathroom and a wood burning stove in the open concept kitchen/living room. This cottage has a large deck, half of which is covered, and looks out over the harbour and swimming area.
It is preferred that all pets stay at home. However, we will permit 1 hypo-allergenic, non-shedding DOG 20lbs or less.
Log Point
This cottage is a one bedroom cottage with a queen size bed, and a pull out couch in the living room. The bathroom is three piece with a glass corner shower unit. The living room features a stone fireplace with insert and the deck faces west over Lake Manitou.
It is preferred that all pets stay at home. However, we will permit 1 hypo-allergenic, non-shedding DOG 20lbs or less.
Sunset
The Sunset is a one bedroom cottage with a queen size bed and a pull out couch in the living room. The bathroom is four piece, there is a wood burning stove in the living room/kitchen area, and patio doors leading to a deck overlooking Lake Manitou.
Old Mill
This is a very unique, two story stone cottage. It has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed overlooking the living room, and the other a dormitory style room with two double beds. On the main floor, there is a kitchen with separate eating area, very large four piece bathroom, and a living room with a massive stone fireplace with insert and patio doors leading to a deck looking west over Lake Manitou.
Lakeview
The Lakeview is a two bedroom cottage, one with a queen and the other bedroom has a double bed. There is a four piece bathroom, log interior, cathedral ceiling in the open concept living room/kitchen area including a cozy loft. The patio door leads to a deck facing west over Lake Manitou in addition to a beautiful private garden beside the cottage.
SUGAR SHACK
This new bunkie is nestled among the trees and camping sites on site 20 in our Maple Grove section. (Top right on map). It offers the comfort of light camping with a little pizazz. This cozy unit includes 1 bedroom with a queen bed and the other room with a single bunk bed above a double bed. Like all of our rentals, it includes comfortable mattresses with protectors to ensure a relaxing night sleep. Be sure to bring your own bedding/pillows. It also includes mini bar fridge, sink with lake temperature water, counter, kitchen table and 4 chairs, ceiling fan, garbage pail, outdoor picnic table, 4 lawn chairs and firepit. Sorry, no pets permitted. It is conveniently situated close to the washroom/shower facility. This is "glamping" Manitoulin Resort style.

Cottage Details
All of our cottages are set up and equipped like small homes with comfortable mattresses to offer you a relaxing night sleep. They all include electric heat, hot water tanks, carpeted bedroom floors, AM/FM clock radios and electric appliances. They have two-door fridges, stoves with ovens, glasses, dishes, pots, pans and cutlery. Each cottage has a microwave, electric coffee pot with a washable filter, picnic table, lawn chairs and propane barbecue. All bed linens and kitchen towels are supplied. We do not supply full propane tanks upon each visit so please notify us if your propane tank runs out and we'll deliver a new one as soon as possible.
The Sugar Shack - Bunkie includes 1 bedroom with a queen and the other room with a single bunk bed above a double bed. Like all of our rentals, it includes comfortable mattresses with protectors to ensure a relaxing night sleep. Be sure to bring your own bedding/pillows. It also includes mini bar fridge, sink with lake temperature water, counter, kitchen table and 4 chairs, ceiling fan, garbage pail, outdoor picnic table, 4 lawn chairs and firepit. This is a bare bones unit. Sorry, no pets permitted. The Sugar Shack is located on site 20 in the Maple Grove section located on the top right of our map; close to the washroom/shower facility. This is "glamping" Manitoulin Resort style.
PILLOWS, TOWELS, TOILET PAPER, EXTRA GARBAGE BAGS, SOAP, SHAMPOO, PERSONAL PRODUCTS AND ALL PAPER PRODUCTS ARE NOT SUPPLIED.
The Lakeview cottage has a small loft, suitable for a child to sleep in. Bedding is NOT supplied for the loft, it is strictly a carpeted area. Please be advised, children must be at least 12 years of age to be in the loft and supervision is required.
Tents are not permitted in the cottage area or on the Sugar Shack site. Please reserve a camping site for your family in advance within the resort.
It is preferred that all pets stay at home. If required, we will only permit ONE hypo-allergenic, non-shedding DOG 20 lbs or less in Bayview, Harbourview & Log Point. Please be advised they are not permitted on any furniture. If discovered upon arrival or during your stay with us that your dog does shed, you will be asked to leave immediately based on non-compliance and a $250.00 + tax cleaning fee will be applied to your credit card on file. (Some exceptions may apply). After your dog enjoys a swim at the public boat launch, please ensure they are dry prior to re-entry in the cottage. When outside, pets must be leashed. Excessive barking, stoop/scoop policy is in effect. If you have any concerns that your pet may bite, you are required to have them muzzled while you are not at your cottage on any resort grounds.
Do not walk through other camping sites or cottage rental areas. This can affect and shorten your stay with us.
Manitoulin Resort’s water is Ministry approved and therefore safe to drink, shower and cook with. We follow and abide by the Ministry’s requirements. We maintain two top quality water systems which are equipped with dual filtration, ultraviolet and chlorination units to keep you safe.
Basic supplies are available in our store. There is a Laundromat on the grounds available May to September. The town of Manitowaning is only five miles away for additional shopping.
Accommodations are subject to applicable taxes. You are responsible for payment for all nights you have reserved. Upon arrival, we accept debit, Visa, MasterCard, and cash. We cannot accept debit Visa's or gift cards. Email payments must be submitted at least 3 days prior to arrival. Sorry, personal cheques are not accepted unless submitted at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Please be advised our cottages are not equipped with televisions. You may rent our TV/DVD player however there is no reception for regular television programming. Guests are always welcome to come in to the store/office and borrow a movie or bring your own.

All clients are required to report any broken and/or damaged items. Please be advised if this occurred during your stay, you will be held liable and your credit card will be automatically charged for replacement value.
We do our best to try and keep costs low. We ask that you kindly leave the cottage in a similar condition to when you first checked-in. If furniture has been moved and/or it is very dirty, (food everywhere), additional cleaning fees will be applied to your credit card on file.
DOCKING: $17.75 per day $97.34 per week
Advance payment required prior to use! DO NOT attach anything to the docks. Slips are non-transferable. Boat must be removed from dock slip by 11:00am.
All below rentals are offered ONLY to those staying at any Accommodation on Manitoulin Island.
All watercraft must only be launched and docked on resort property. They are not permitted to be docked elsewhere or taken to another lake. Sorry, no exceptions.
BOATS & MOTORS: (16’ aluminum with 15 horse motor) Boaters license in hand and experience with a tiller motor is required for a rental. Minimum 21 years of age. We no longer issue temporary boaters licenses. Visa or MasterCard is required and a safety deposit fee may be charged up front and refunded at the end of your rental. All safety equipment is included and free to use with each boat rental.
